Huyndai Elantra is one of the star performers in the line-up of Hyundai sedans and wagons. The Hyundai Elantra Touring was the only hatchback offered in the Elantra series, which was quite efficient, though it wasn’t as successful as the Sedan versions.
The Huyndai Elantra Wagon offered during 1996-2000 was simply superb in the small station wagon class, and it outperformed all the other competitors in the market. There was a time when the critics called it a foolish move to launch the Huyndai Elantra wagon, when all the other major players decided to stop the production of small station wagons.
Performance
However, the Huyndai Elantra Wagon proved everybody wrong, and delivered excellent fuel economy, high class performance and proved out to be true value for every penny paid.
On the other hand, the Elantra Touring was a hatchback version, which was fairly popular, though it could never match the performance of Elantra GLS sedan version.
The 2001 Elantra GLS was a revolution in the market, as it came with improved looks, powerful engine, amazing interior styling and top notch multimedia features as well as safety accessories.
Mileage
Huyndai Elantra has been one of the most promising models delivering fuel economy of nearly 30 on highway roads and about 22 on city street even in practical tests, and it has bagged several safety awards too.
