2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS
The 2000 version of Hyundai Elantra keeps intact the GLS model for 2000 and leaves aside the entry level GL model. The Elantra also employs a large 4-cylinder engine which is linked to either a manual or an automatic transmission system, as the transmission comes in both options.
Features
The Elantra is available only in the GLS model, which was shelved in 1999. A power window system, air conditioning, foldable rear seats, mirrors, radio and a cassette player, and locks are basically available, and so is a wiper for the rear window on the wagon. Disc brakes on all four wheels are generic; anti-locking brakes are optional to the buyer. Other options include standard airbags for driver and passengers. Its basic warranty is one of the longest in the car industry, which is 5 years/60000 miles bumper-to-bumper, and 10 years/100000 miles power-train.
Engine
The Elantra GLS is run by a 2 liter four cylinder engine with 138 horsepower and 136 pound-feet of torque, linked with either a four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission system. Inside the Elantra exists a cabin which is peerless to most of the other cars in this category. It has a very high interior, which is not expected, where attention has been given to little details, such as build refinement and gauge illumination.
